This seminar includes a demonstration of powerful but often overlooked techniques in Microsoft Excel. Learn how to use charts, fill data, sort, filter, subtotal, and create pivot tables. See how to shorten your complex IF formulas. See how to use and troubleshoot VLOOKUP.

Learn how to workaround the macro recorder

Personal laptops are welcome but not required for this seminar. The seminar is fairly fast-paced.  There will be times when you will get more out of the seminar by watching the demonstrations and taking notes.  There will be other times when you may want to try out some of the tips being discussed.  Whether you bring a laptop or not, Bill will provide a handout with a link so you can download all of the sample files at the seminar or when you get back to the office.

Speaker Biography

Bill Jelen is the host of MrExcel.com and the author of 49 books about Microsoft Excel including Excel Gurus Gone Wild, Pivot Table Data Crunching, and Power Pivot Alchemy. He has made over 80 guest appearances on TV’s Call for Help with Leo Laporte and was voted guest of the year on the Computer America radio show. He writes the Excel column for Strategic Finance magazine and is a contributing editor to CFO Magazine. He has produced over 1800 episodes of his daily video podcast Learn Excel from MrExcel. Bill will entertain you while showing you the powerful tricks in Excel. Before founding MrExcel.com in 1998, Jelen spent twelve years “in the trenches”, as a financial analyst for the accounting, finance, marketing, and operations departments of a publicly held company. Since then, his company automates Excel reports for hundreds of clients around the world. The website answers over 30,000 questions a year – for free – for readers all over the world.

CPE Credit

This program is designed to meet the ICMA guidelines for CPE credits for CMAs and CFMs and the NASBA guidelines for CPE credits for CPAs. However, state boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.  In addition, many IMA members apply this CPE from IMA to meet requirements for a variety of other certifications, including CIA, CGFO, etc.

CPE credit is granted through the Council to participants based on the times indicated on the sign-in/sign-out sheet provided at the registration table at the start of the seminar. It is the participant's responsibility to record accurate times on this sheet. In order to be eligible to receive full credit, participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire duration of the seminar.

Participants may earn up to EIGHT CPE CREDITS for full day attendance at this conference.

 

Certificates of Completion

Certificates of completion will be emailed to participants within two weeks following the seminar. It is the participant's responsibility to provide an up-to-date email address at registration.
