IMA - The Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business

For almost 100 years, IMA has been a champion of—and resource for—the financial management and accounting profession.  The IMA is committed to helping its more than 70,000 members in 120 countries expand their professional skills, better manage their organizations, and enhance their careers.  Accountants working in business are required to handle a broad range of responsibilities, including financial planning, analysis, forecasting, internal controls and decision support. They are expected to be trusted advisors who can interpret the numbers to direct corporate strategy, needing skills beyond what is required to get a basic accounting degree or to become a CPA. To fill the gap, the IMA is dedicated to helping accountants and finance professionals in business become more than “number crunchers” by developing their leadership and business skills through a combination of continuing education, mentoring, networking, volunteerism, and certification.

Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) – The Gold Standard

The CMA is the globally recognized, advanced-level credential appropriate for accountants and financial professionals in business. Achieving the CMA demonstrates your professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics – skills that are in demand by organizations around the world.  Professionals holding the CMA can earn over $34,000 higher total compensation than their noncertified peers.*    Since 1972, more than 40,000 CMA certificates have been awarded to professionals worldwide.  Visit imanet.org to learn more.
